We woke up at the pack station warm, if not totally dried out yet. \u00a0Luckily for us, JD’s sister Mandi came to pick us up and take us to a family cabin in the town of Arnold a couple hours away. \u00a0There \u00a0we were able to spread out and get everything really dry. \u00a0Mandi made us a bunch of food for dinner and breakfast the next morning, and gave us a ride back to the trailhead at Sonora Pass. \u00a0She basically saved our butts. \u00a0THANK YOU, MANDI!<\/p>\n

The snow has melted and the skies are turning blue.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The snow had melted in town, but it was still sticking to the trail. \u00a0We hiked out into it, and all of the warmth that I soaked up at the cabin disappeared.<\/p>\n

I was freezing cold and my shoes got soaked through. \u00a0We tried to dry them out at camp, but we couldn’t get a good fire going, so we all ended up going to bed cold and wet, and a little grumpy.<\/p>\n
